- Tim "Crow" O'Hearn has appeared in many movies, including a starring role in "Cleric". Anyone looking for more info on Tim or his films, can visit him at his IMDB page or his website: www.myspace.com/crowacting.
Q: Mr. O’Hearn, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: Call me Crow or Crow-nan as I got to be known on the set of “Cleric” lol … I have always had a love for movies, especially horror. Always thought I would make a good Michael or Jason. I did a independent film locally years ago then a friend recommended me to someone that was shooting a movie and I have been networking online and whoring myself out at horror conventions. Just getting my name out there. I guess someone likes my work lol
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Cleric."
A: I play the role of “Alpha Howler”, the leader of the Howler group.
the Howlers are scavengers, who live to kill and kill to live.
I’m one big bad mother who weilds a 5 ft. chainsword (sword with
A chainsaw for a blade) and take out anyone who gets in my way.
Looks like my band the PushRods will have quite a few songs from their new album “Dishes” featured in the film as well.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: Its kind of Blade Runner meets Apocalypse now. Very bloody (smile) and action packed.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: There was a scene which involved a choreographed fight of six individuals coming at me from every direction and me taking them out one at a time, shot several times from all different angels. Tiring as that was, that was not the difficult part … after all of that was executed to perfection and shot every which way possible I had to stand over the pile of bodies, raised hands in the air and let out the biggest, loudest guttural/growl I could. The first time wasn’t bad but by the 5th take I sounded like a 11 yr. old boy just hitting puberty !
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?
A:
Another fight scene day , a battle between my character “Alpha Howler” and lead character “Samara”. The intensity that we both brought to the scene felt
great. After the shot wrapped I said to myself “this movie is going to be intense” !
Q: Looking back, I know that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about them and your experience with it? First, “Fable: Teeth of Beasts ”?
A: Fable is a city, a mythical realm with a free lance enforcer named Lilith Noir after a ancient demon. Sort of a Fantasy/Horror type movie. I play mythical god “Hern the Hunter” with the source of my power being my huge horns which I give to my lover, Lilith. Great experience and first time working in front of green screen as well as my first simulated sex scene on film. But hey, I did have a big set of horns ! lol
Q: How about “100 Tears”?
A: Blood, Killer Clown, Blood, Huge Fucking meat cleaver, more blood. Did I mention this is a high body count, slasher, blood and guts movie? lol I play Skater Punk #23 a party goer who gets in a battle with “Gurdy” the clown and get my right leg chopped off. I met director, SFX wizard Marcus Koch when my band the PushRods were on tour in Tampa, FL. He loved the band and when I found out he was doing a horror movie I mentioned I was a actor, he replied “We can always use more bodies … [insert evil laugh]”. Also one of the bands songs “Stupid” from a demo CD “XXX” is featured in the film as well.
Q: How about “Terminal Descent”?
A: Part the Hills Have Eyes, part The Descent, and part CHUD, this is a b-monster movie epic ! I play one of the Battle Dwellers, a underground mutant who kills for survival, kill or be killed. I had played the victim, now it was my turn to inflict the carnage. One scene, I wrestle down a girl (who wouldn’t enjoy that lol) and rip her throat out with my mouth. I drank at least a couple gallons of Hollywood blood! Yum … can you say Karo syrup? lol I had always dreamed of that kind of role. Also my band the PushRods have five songs from their CD “Devil Wears a Bra” featured in the movie as well.
Q: You’ve also appeared in a tv show: “Forensic Files". How did you get involved with that? Was it fun? Worthwhile?
A:I went to a Open casting call by Pro Model & Casting. They called about a role a few months later. The interesting thing about casting this type of thing is you have to look like the actual person you are portraying. This person had a full beard. My facial hair grows quick but I ended up losing the role to a full bearded someone else. Pro model called me a few weeks later with “we would like to use your photos for the police lineup. You don’t have to drive, act or leave your house. Sign a release and make $200”. Easiest $200 I ever made! So yes, it was a lot of fun and worthwhile!!! lol hope to get called again to portray a beardless hood !
Q: I see that you are involved in your own Band. How did you get started with that and tell us a bit about the group.
A:I guess being a drummer is kind of in my blood. There are five members of my family who are drummers (uncle, 2 cousins, nephew and myself). All within different genre’s of music. Covering everything from big band to country to punk. Makes for some interesting music to listen to at family gatherings. Do we listen to Toby Keith or Marilyn Manson lol I have been beating the skins for 25+ years and play for the PushRods, a old school power trio punk rock band, style dubbed Porn-Punk. That being said we are sponsored by Adult Outlet stores www.mysexystore.com. Last year, working with producer Jeff DaBella (Autopilot Off, Island/Universal) the band released a new album “Devil Wears a Bra”. As we speak Jeff and the band are putting the finishing touches on their next release “Dishes” with a professional music video of the title track to follow. The band has music featured in several Adult films, independent horror flicks and have the craziest stage show this side of the Mississippi. Get a taste at: www.pushsrodsrock.com and don’t forget to leave some love in our guest book.
Q: If you could choose only one type of art (music, movies, etc) to continue working on, what would you choose?
A: You know, music and movies pretty much go hand in hand. Case and point, my band has music that is featured in a lot of the movies I appear in.
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2009?
A: I have a few auditions coming up. One for a Werewolf movie and another is kind of a Amityville horror type movie. Once the bands new release is completed we are going to be shopped to major labels and tour in support of it.
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: Blood, carnage and mayhem from my movie roles and major record label on tour with theband ! You will be writing reviews of my movies and coming back stage with the PushRods living large my friend!!! Hell Ya
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?
A: I would love to work on a Clive Barker film! He is one sick fuck. Would like to do a James Cameron action flick called: Terminator vs Crow-nan” lol Tim Roth and Michael Madson are two great character actors I would love to share the screen with. And who wouldn’t love to do some Hot scenes with Julie Strain or Jenna Jameson ? Only I don’t want it to be green screen this time, I want to use a real bed!!! lol
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time and actually read this far ! If your into catchy, powerful blend of old-school punk rock then checkout my band the PushRods. In case no one has figured out … one of my favorite movies is “the Crow” starring Brandon Lee (none of the badly done sequels). After I got 5 Crow themed tattoos and was Eric Draven for Halloween a few times the name just sort of stuck !
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: The other day I watched the new Friday the 13th remake DVD. It was like the first 3 originals all wrapped up in one. It wasn’t horrible but remaking classics like that are just not going to live up to the original. What is with remaking all the classics and Japanese horror flicks ? Don’t we have any original ideas left??? An all time classic horror movie for me is the original “Re-Animator” … starring Jeffrey Combs, another great character actor.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: No thank you for having me, It was my pleasure …
remember: “We can always use more bodies” lol
