- Nicola Fiore has appeared in many movies, including starring role in "Terror at Blood Fart Lake". Anyone looking for more info on Nicola or her films, can visit her at her IMDB page or her website: www.myspace.com/nicolafiore.
Q: Ms. Fiore, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: I was a involved with theatre in college and changed my focus to film. There were a lot of students that were interested in indie horror and I made a few films with them. It wasn't until my friend Dustin Hubbard wrote a screenplay about scientists that clone Christ that I really got involved which was several years later. Debbie Rochon worked on the project also and was very encouraging and helped get me going.
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Terror at Blood Fart Lake."
A: This film is SO much fun! I play Thunder Ambrosia who is seeking revenge and is a bad-ass bitch! Working with Chris Seaver was actually a challenge because he is so unorthodox.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: This is a twisted cult-comedy. It is not to be taken seriously! This is a spoof on slasher comedies and the characters are really funny! Low Budget Pictures has been in the game for over 15 years and has really branded their own style of comedy.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: It is what insurance companies call "acts of god"....... weather!! Rain!! It was raining on and off during filming and we had to film the finale in the rain!
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work the way you thought it could?
A: The day I had my big scene with the Leo character- it clicked! We were all very passionate and in it! I knew it could turn into something great!
Q: Looking back, I know that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about them and your experience with it? First, “For Christ's Sake”?
A: For Christ's Sake is where I first met and worked with Debbie which is what really got me started in all of this. She has been a great friend to me and helped me get casted in films such as "Dead End" with Linnea Quigley and "Game Over" with German filmmaker Timo Rose. Working with her has been the highlight of all of this.
Q: How about “Unholy Reunion”?
A: This is a quick cameo I shot with Lloyd Kaufman during Tromapalooza in Minneapolis. I was drinking a lot of beer and Lloyd was like, "come shoot a quick thing..." and I was like , "but, Lloyd I am drunk..." and he said, "Go with it!" We actually had a blast filming and ad-libbing together!
Q: How about “Ms Cannibal Holocaust”?
A: Ron Bonk at SRS saw me in Terror at Blood Fart Lake and thought I would work well in his upcoming production "Ms Cannibal Holocaust". The film is about a lesbian cannibal cult leader who is seeking revenge on those who watched herlover get killed and didn't help them. This was a great experience to shoot and has a lot of action and fight sequences. Fans will LOVE it!!
Q: How about “Timo Rose's Game Over"”?
A: In June of 2008 I hosted a screening in Tampa, FL where one of Debbie's films was showing. With her she brought her friend and costar Joe Davison. Her and Joe did "Fearmakers" together and after I met him I checked it out. The film really looked amazing and had great music. I knew I wanted to work with Timo but didn't think that less than a year later I would be on a plane with Raine Brown heading to Europe! The film is about 3 scream queens who are ready to have a fun vacation and then.....tourture!!
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2009?
A: I just finished shooting a film called "Horrorotica" with Tiffany Shepis, Tina Kraus, and Alan Rowe Kelly. It is a horror-comedy that should be very fun!
I am gearing up to shoot "The Chainsaw Sally Show' next.
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A:
Great question! A year ago today I was living across the country and never would have thought I would have accomplished so much. I would like to think I will keep busy and that people will be able to see what we shot this year.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?
A: I still would love to work with Ivan Zuccon. The last time I was asked this I mentioned Timo Rose and that actually happened this year already!
I have been fortunate enough to work with a lot of great women but am still waiting to work with Brinke Stevens.
Q: Are there certain types of films you enjoy doing? What do you look for when picking projects?
A: I like all of it! Comedy especially. I look for a character that I am fond of mostly. A lot of it can be who I will be working with too.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: lesbian-housewife and marijuana activist:)
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: I recently worked with Alan Rowe Kelly and he gave me some of his films to check out. "The Blood Shed" was brilliant!! It has a John Waters feel and Alan as Beefteena is a riot! Check it out!
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: Anytime, thank you for supporting independent cinema
