Jurassic Park III (2001)

Eight years after the InGen incident, Dr. Grant is happy with his life but extremely short in research money. As such he accepts the offer of businessman Paul Kirby to do a short flight over the dino islands in exchange for a nice contribution. What Dr. Grant didn't know is that Kirby needs a dinosaur expert to help him and his wife find their 14-year-old son Eric, who crashed on the island while paragliding. Dr. Grant wants off the island just as fast as the Kirby’s do. But with some new dinosaurs present, it may not be that easy. Nature finds a way...
Overall: Regardless of how often I have been trying to remember what this film is about…I can’t. I just watched the movie and I still kept forgetting it (and no I wasn’t drinking or sleeping). This film has nothing identifiable or memorable about it that might cause one to remember it. No good lines, nothing particularly spectacular about the chases or dinos. It’s just an “ok” film that isn’t as good as the first and has a weak cast. Like the first one, we have a decent cast who doesn’t get used to their abilities. Macy and Leoni are good but barely touched on in the character department. This really is the dinosaur fan’s dreams. All dinos, all the time with lots of chases and various creatures abound. Many people make the effort to point out that the first film had a mere 8 minutes of dino “face-time” so if you are on of those who recognized it…you get your dinos in full view this time. However I see it as one big mouse-race along the island…and it gets old. Comparison: Jurassic Park meets Cannonball Run |
