Jaws 3: 3D (1983)

The Brody sons are at Sea World and they are going to encounter another great white shark...well two of them. With the grand opening of a new underwater exhibit, 2 sharks end up creeping into the park and after the bay shark dies, mama seeks revenge. And the Brody sons just happen to have experience with this matter. But will it matter?

Overall: Well as much as I’d love to pick on this for the effects, the fact is, 3-D films seen in 2-D just don’t work. Never have. The film needs to be seen in it’s 3-D world. I did see this at the time in 3-D and didn’t think of much of the effects anyway. And until “Spy Kids 3”, we hadn’t had any 3-D movies since the failed attempts in 1983 (Spacehunter - Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, Metalstorm - the Destruction of Jared-syn, Friday the 13th Part 3) Clearly not as good as parts 1 & 2 in terms of effects. In terms of story, if you had to do a sequel to Jaws 2, then I am ok with the sons & even Sea World. As I said, if you had to do the sequel. They got a good cast (Lea Thompson, Louis Gosset Jr, Dennis Quaid) and some of the plot was interesting. The character of Fitzroyce though was useless and unnecessary and the ending was silly. And since when do sharks either swim backwards or chew their food? What amazed me was how old the kids were. This film is 5 years after part 2 but the kids aged about 10 years...
