The town of San Catalano has just hired a new Fire Chief whose first task is to stop the deadly snake attacks just starting in the town. Turns out, the local greedy developer has been using TNT to help clear out areas for building new construction. This blasting has awoken the mutated snakes (Tropical snakes w/ rattlesnakes) who decide to move into town and eat everyone they can. But not if Perseus can help it…
Overall: Yet another mutated snake film...except for one thing. These snakes aren’t done with CGI...hell they aren’t even big. Maybe 5 feet long...not the 30 foot variety the movies have been showing. The acting is generally sub par but frankly as the film goes on, you really want some giant mutated snake to attack someone. The best/worst part of the film is the title and snakes. Rattlesnakes aren’t silent...not quiet...not even “less noisy.” The rattle is there for a warning and not as provocation. So why these people would call a noisy snake film “Silent Predators” really makes no sense...the characters themselves keep asking after the rattle goes off, “Did you hear that?” Really, they should have fired the “geniuses” that created this film. I will say the ending was a bit of a surprise. Not a single hint towards a sequel. Comparison: Anaconda meets Night Crawlers |
