I Bury the Living (1958)

A newly appointed cemetery chairman discovers that, merely by inserting pins into a wall-sized map of the cemetery, he can cause the deaths of that plot's owner. Those who purchased plots in advance better watch out because Robert Kraft is continually testing out this new gift and the local citizens are dying in droves.

Overall: The film really had promise but I do think the ending kind of ruins the film. Up until the ending, the film is very good. Nice acting, some really good effects with the map and all. I was really enjoying the film. I really thought I had a good handle on where the film was going but frankly, it’s disappointing and frankly, unrealistic too. Given the fact at one point he replaces black pins with white pins and then the shots show moving gravestones, I figured the ending would be quite obvious. The internet rumor discusses a previous ending which was scrapped for the one we see on video/dvd. I say, let’s restore whatever other ending they have for this movie.
