Cabin Fever (2003)

5 young adults have decided to go for a camping trip in the woods for some sex and beer, and not necessarily in that order. But once they get settled they end up in contact with an older man who seems infected by some unknown contagion. Soon the virus will start to infect their group and they will do anything to stop the spread, including killing each other.

Overall: This movie wasn’t that bad nor that good. If anything I feel like Randy Jackson from “American Idol” – “It was just aw-right for me Dawg.” They ripped off “Pumpkinhead” at the beginning, “Food of the Gods” at the end (as well as “Night of the Living Dead”) and “Outbreak” everywhere in between. I did like the young bicycle cop character – they had some good stuff with him and the DVD was neat with it’s “Family” and “Chick” versions. I did wonder where in the wilderness they happened to find a hose to put the fire out... The film just wasn’t scary nor really suspenseful and had a lot of stuff which meant nothing especially given they never truly addressed the disease and where it came from. And what was with the kung-fu scenes? Lots of people love the laughs in this movie but I think that is what takes away from the film – do we really want a funny movie about flesh-eating viruses?

Comparison: Take your pick given the above films
