It is 1816 in Geneva, Switzerland and the great British writers are getting together or a weekend of sex, drugs and debauchery. However what will come out of this weekend is the book Frankenstein and a little more honesty from the participants. And if they are lucky, no one will die.
Overall: I liked the ideas in this movie getting down to how Mary Shelley created her classic story but other than the frame of the story, the execution is just weird. It’s got bunches of stuff going on and you never really know what is real and what isn’t, and who exactly is having sex with whom. I’d advise skipping the film, regardless of the cast: Miranda Richardson, Julian Sands, Gabriel Byrne. Comparison: Indian Summer meets Frankenstein |
