In Dreams (1999)

Claire's a clairvoyant whose mind becomes more and more possessed by child-killer Vivian Thompson. Cops and shrinks refuse to take her seriously until she loses her own daughter. The killer however can reach into Claire’s mind and control her thoughts and actions and does so by letter her see his childhood, when he was abused by a hateful mother, in a house that is now submerged in a nearby reservoir. Can Claire stop the killer once and for all or will she get caught by his charming personality and fail to make it out alive?
Overall: This is one of those films that need multiple viewings. On the surface this is just the usual serial killer drama with a bit of John Saul or Dean Koontz thrown in. However lots of stuff is going on here to the level of “Bladerunner” or “Jacob’s Ladder.” Reality isn’t all that you think it is...it’s worse!
