Countess Elizabeth has suffered a great loss as her husband, the Count, just died. However she must share her wealth with her daughter who’s been away for a long time. She decided to try a little magic and soon with the blood sacrifice of a virgin, she realizes that bathing in virgin blood can make her look years younger. With this she has her daughter kidnapped and impersonates her daughter to others. Falling in love with a young Lieutenant, she plans to marry him but after he discovers her secret, he plans to take the Countess down. But will Countess win or find herself a victim?
Overall: Clearly based on true life of Countess Bathory of Hungary who came after Count Dracula in Transylvania. Bathory is believed to have killed 300 young girls to look young and believe me, if this actually worked, the species of human s probably would have died out by now. And why virgins as opposed to women who have had sex? How about woman who’d not had intercourse but done other things? Tough things with stories such as this – too many holes to poke thru the rumors. Back to the movie…it’s a slow film that never seems to want to conclude itself and as the film goes on, watching gets more painful. Comparison: Bram Stoker’s Dracula meets She’s Gotta Have It |
