Darkness Falls (2003)

The Tooth Fairy is terrorizing little boy and girls and the only way to survive is not to look at her. But years ago Kyle did look and has been haunted with visions ever since. Now his elementary school sweetheart has grown up and had a kid of her own and her boy has also seen the demon. It is up to Kyle to come back home and save the town from itself.

Overall: What saves the film is the effects and 1 scary scene (when the demon visits Kyle in his bed). Other than that, the film just doesn’t do anything right. The title for the demon was so lame, I refused to see the film in the theaters. Having a chance to view it on DVD I decided to do so but the name still did nothing for me. The lady once collected teeth, died, and came back to curse the town. Granted the demon shows up when the kid loses his last tooth and all, but after that the film is all about darkness, light and escaping a flying demon. Once Kyle and the kid see the Tooth Fairy, nothing much about teeth or dentistry ever show up again. The film is quite predictable all around except for the motive...so the lady got pissed and cursed the town – but why did she care about Kyle and the kid? So they saw her? Now what? Also, by the end of the film about 10 people saw the demon and not all were dead anyway. And some of the medical staff didn’t look at her and she killed them anyway. The film is very much like a weird version of the story of Medusa which would have made more sense had they dumped the dentistry idea.
