H6: Diary of a Serial Killer/Diario de un asesino (2005)

Summary: Antonio Frau has been released from prison, for killing a former girlfriend, and wants to reestablish his life. He ends up inheriting an abandoned brothel from an Aunt he never knew. He moves in with his new wife, a lady he corresponded with while in prison, and wants to start from scratch. But while his wife works nights, his passions for life and death are reignited and he decides to help those who need it. Although his ideas on “helping” usually involving torture, rape and chainsaws. Meanwhile his wife has no clue…as she cheats on him with a co-worker. But Antonio wants people to know of his great work and keeps a diary of his actions and one day, he’s gonna have a reckoning over what he’s done!

Overall: This is a very interesting and good film. We have a lot of scenes with our victim and our killer and just them going through the motions of trying to “purify” one’s soul before death…but the atmosphere is so eerie. Everyone knows the victim is gonna die, including the victim herself. We all know this but the scenes drag on (in a good way) as our killer tries to “help” them be purified by explaining their fears and childhoods, before it’s all over. I will say that these scenes are quite intense especially as our antagonist has the chainsaw in his hands and we all know what he’s gonna do. And then bam, another victim is tied to the table. It’s an intense, disturbing film but if you think you can handle that, by all means, find the film and watch it.
