Michael Myers is back and won't stop till he kills Laurie Strode. This film immediately starts off where part 1 ended - with Dr. Loomis shooting Michael and then Michael falling out of the window. They check to see if he's dead but when they walk downstairs for a closer check...he's gone. After this, the film floats to Myers perspective as he retreats for safety and then to the local neighbors - remember it is the very same night as part 1. Laurie Strode needs some medical attention and so is taken to the local hospital. Loomis and the Sheriff continue their search for Michael but meanwhile since the deaths, the town has taken a fascination to those masks. Everyone wants one and it gets one kid killed. One of the ambulance drivers seeks to help protect Laurie while the other intends to have some bathtub fun with a nurse. Myers is on his way to the hospital and when he gets there he begins to kill again. But before he does so, he visits his old elementary school where he calls out to his dead sister. Loomis finds a secret file on Michael and realizes the darkest secret of all - what Laurie's connection to Michael is. Will she make it out alive or will he succeed in killing everyone?
Overall: This is one of the better sequels out there and does much to keep the story going on. Yet this film also starts the trend, along with the horror characters of Freddy and Jason, by having the killer be practically invincible. If you count all the gun shots Michael has taken from part 1 till part 7 - he'd practically be made of lead by now. But you must give the film credit for staying true to the story and giving us good reasons for the pursuit of Laurie. Also just about every character alive at the end of part 1 was represented by the exact same actor in part 2 - odd for sequels (James Bond has been played by 6 people and even Speed 1 & 2 couldn't keep the same actor for its lead character) Death Count = 9.
