Q: Ms. King, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: Ever I was a little girl I always wanted to be an actress. I took classes, I did student films, worked as an extra and a few years back I submitted my headshot and resume to Killer Wolf films. They were casting for, “Fist Of The Vampire”, and out of 200 resumes Len Kabasinski chose me for the film for the part of “Davidson”.
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Wendigo: Bound By Blood."
A: “Wendigo: Bound By Blood” by Director, Len Kabsinski of Killer Wolf Films, is a film about the supernatural. In it, I play Angeni Stonechild, a doctor who travels to small towns making house calls. I arrive at a patient’s house but he is missing. In the movie, I team up once again with Brian “BadBoy” Anthony, who plays the local sheriff and we go looking for my patient. Killings, gun fights, ass kicking and horror ensue.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: Popular folklore about Wendigos says they are Native American cannibal monsters that feast on humans. In this film, the Wendigo is a supernatural evil spirit that possesses its host, feeding its hunger until it can possess another person’s body.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: My fight scene with K.K. Ryder was kind of tough. I was supposed to kick her in the face while I was kneeling down, it took me a few tries but I got it. I think Len and K.K. are great sports for not chuckling at me. :)
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?
A:
I remember filming a scene in the woods where Angeni and Craig are looking for her patient. I could see the cast and crew’s dedication towards filming and knew that all the hard work was going to pay off.
Q: Looking back, I know that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about them and your experience with it? First, “Fist Of The Vampire”?
A: “Fist Of The Vampire”, was my first film with Killer Wolf Films. The trailer and DVD info can be found at www.killerwolffilms.com. Filming was so exciting. I learned so much on set and met really good people and found very good friends. Preparing for “Fist Of The Vampire” was fun and hard work. My martial arts trainer, Allen Malicsi, would put me through these rigorous workout sessions where I learned about so many styles of martial arts. It was a great experience. Also for my “undercover hooker” scene I wore these super sexy boots that I actually bought at a place called Sex World in downtown Minneapolis. I had to laugh when a friend told me about the place because I grew up in the Twin Cities and I never knew it existed. It was an interesting store, I dragged my poor old mom along and she says she never wants to go back there again.
Q: How about “Demons Rising”?
A: I filmed “Demons Rising” with Cinema Lexzikon Films. The Director, William Lee was great to work with. I play “Breaker” a super human assassin. I loved killing and kicking ass in this film. I met a lot of good people and had a great experience. William Lee just signed a worldwide distribution deal for “Demons Rising” and it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
Q: You’ve appeared in a few films, but have been involved in some TV, modeling, and even theatre, correct? Can you tell us where we may have seen you in those various projects?
A:I model locally in Minneapolis and St. Paul and am listed with three modeling and talent agencies there. I’ve also modeled for artist David Kline Jr. I filmed a music video, “Forever” with singer Shawn Michael Perry; and I will be filming a music video with the group Rancor X of Minneapolis. I’ve also been in a couple comic books, Catapult Comics by Miah Allsman and Tribal Force Comic by Jon Proudstar.
And, of course, I did some theater in college.
Q: If you could choose only one type of art (TV, movies, modeling, etc) to continue working on, what would you choose?
A: Movies, absolutely.
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2009?
A: This summer, I will begin modeling for my friend, the great artist, Kenneth Hari. Some of his work may be seen at www.hari.com.
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: Well, I’m writing a screenplay.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?
A: There are so many directors I would like to work with. Last night I watched Johnny Depp in Sweeny Todd. I would love to work with him and director, Tim Burton someday. As for actresses - Meryl Streep, Sheila Tousey, Cate Blanchet, Angelina Jolie, just to name a few.
Q: Are there certain types of films you enjoy doing? What do you look for when picking projects?
A: I really enjoy the horror genre and am happy making scary movies that kick ass with a touch of comedy.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: I want to pilot my own jet someday.
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: I watched “Fright Night” last night. Chris Sarandon is so sexy.
I liked “High Tension”, “Dead Birds”, “Count Yorba, Vampire”, and of course,
“Evil Dead”. Bruce Campbell rocks.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: Thank you very much. It was my pleasure.
